Kimsooja is a Korean installation and video artist. She was born in South Korea in 1957. In her work she transforms everyday like sewing or doing the laundry and makes it 2 or 3 dimensional and it becomes a performance piece. The boundaries between aesthetic transcendent experiences is blurred. The center of her work is often the Bottari or a Korean bed cover, in her work it becomes a philosophical metaphor. She also depicts human condition in her work and brings new perspectives to her viewers and also brings about questions of reality. Her work is known for its vibrant colors and density of imagery she "emphasizes the change metaphysically within an artist-as-performer"
