Charles Atlas was born in 1958, he is a film maker and video artist. He has created several works for screen, stage, television and museum. He collaborates with choreographers and dancers in his work. He is known to be one of the pioneers of Media Dance. One of his more famous films is "Television Dance Atlas"  it incorporated many different dance styles such as ballet burlesque and figure skating. He was also know for his video installations like "The Hanged One" it inspired symbolism from Tarot and foot fetish culture. The video itself used a variety of techniques such as rotoscopes, motorized mannequins, and theatrical lighting.
