Artist #1 Wyland

Robert Wyland is a artist who is well known for his paintings of ocean life. He has been my favorite artist ever since I was a little kid. Wyland was born in 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. Most people know him from his works with the "Whaling Walls." which are large outdoor murals on buildings all over the world, He has done works in several states in the US, China, Japan, France, Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Brazil, and England. His goal was to be able to paint 100 Whaling Walls by 2011, he completed his goal in 2008, his 100th Whale Wall is in Beijing, China. I have seen a few of these walls, a couple i saw in Hawaii when I lived there, and the other I saw while driving through Ohio. The scale of these murals is absolutely amazing, and he really captures the subjects of his work very well.
