So my project is completed I have to say that creating a tea cup out of fondant was a little more difficult than I had anticipated but I got it worked out i the end. All in all I think it turned out successful. I called it A Curious Tea Party, because I really love Alice in Wonderland and this piece reminds me of it in a way, a sort of wacked out topsy turvy idea of a tea party. So the cake is made out of sculpy clay painted and sprayed with a spray on gloss, and the dishes are made out of a white buttercream fondant with gold gel icing for the embellishments on it. The bite marks in each dish piece is to further show that these pieces can be eaten unlike the cake, which i wouldn't recommend trying to eat haha.

Artist #3 Janine Antoni
Janine Antoni is a very interesting contemporary artist who often uses her body or parts of it as tools to create her work. Some of her work is performance art for example "Loving Care." she used her hair as a paintbrush to paint the floor of a room with Hair dye, she did this as people came touring the museum and watched her paint the floor "Performance wasn't something that I intended to do. I was doing work that was about process, about the meaning of the making, trying to have a love-hate relationship with the object. I always feel safer if I can bring the viewer back to the making of it. I try to do that in a lot of different ways, by residue, by touch, by these processes that are basic to all of our lives... that people might relate to in terms of process... everyday activities--bathing, eating, etc. But there are times when the best way to keep people in that place, which for me is so alive and pertinent, is to show the process or the making" (Antoni) There is also another piece of artwork she has done where she created two busts of herself, one made of chocolate and one made with soap, she continuously licks away at the chocolate one while she washes herself with the one made of soap, eventually her image starts to fade which is what she is going for. She likes to confront certain issues in her work such as Materiality, process, the body, and cultural perceptions of femininity.
