Frank Gehry
Frank Gehry was born on February 28, 1929. A famous architect even in our time some of his most famous works are the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, the Walt Disney Concert hall in Los Angeles, Experience Music Project in Washington, and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. Born in Canada Gehry has been said to always having been a creative person. Always drawing and building things out of stuff he had available around him. He studied at the Los Angeles City College in 1947, and eventually graduated from the University of Southern California's school of Architecture in 1954. His designs use a lot of abstract shapes and concave motion that give a very unique look. Though some people have criticized his work for this because it doesn't serve any practical use or it looks out of place.
Here are some images of some of Gehry's works

Blog #1
So I'm pretty much new to this whole blogging for class thing but I think it's pretty neat so here it goes.
I guess this one is going to be more of an introduction about myself kind of thing. I'm a transfer student from Hope College, a small private christian college in Holland Michigan. I'm from Fort Drum, NY. The reason I transferred all the way out here to BSU is because I dropped the ROTC scholarship I had at Hope because I had decided to switch my major from Nursing to Art Education. That and my dad grew up in Fairfeild Idaho so I have a lot of family in the area. So far I'm enjoying it here. As far as things I like to do I like video games, movies, reading, writing, and some sports on occasion.
Ever since I can remember I have loved art. I'm always drawing or doing something creative. My experiences with art have varied to my Drawing 1 and 2 classes from high school, taking lessons from a local artist and most recently I took a beginning sculpture class at Hope. My favorite form of art is drawing I really enjoy using charcoals, and color pencils. I would really like to get into learning to paint. In my free time I like to draw cartoons, I'm a huge fan of Disney and animations. I still have a lot to learn in my art career but I'm ready for it and can't wait.
